On 21 July 2023, Dr Weng Yee Chong graduated with a PhD from the University of Southampton. Her thesis was entitled ‘Investigating ways to improve food safety: ultrasonic salad cleaning’ and the research was supported by Vitacress Salads and Sloan Water Technology Ltd.
Dr Chong is now employed as a scientist at The Leighton Laboratories, Sloan Water Technology, where her skills see her working in both the ultrasonics and the microbiology laboratories, currently on the topic of healing incurable or difficult-to-heal wounds.
