Sloan Water Technology re-uses each litre of tap water between 155 and 555 times before sending it back down the drain into the mains water waste system.

SWT has always been conscious of the need to invent and innovate to save water, and in a previous comparison with comparable hospital equipment, a scientific study (published in the Proceedings of the 24th International Congress on Sound and Vibration) showed that SWT’s inventions saved 79-97% in electricity, and 83-99% of tap water, when used to clean surgical instruments to reduce the risk of infection transmission between patients.

Its innovation and testing laboratories, and manufacturing process, however, also require a lot of water usage. Therefore to conserve water, SWT invented, patented, and implemented, on its site, technology to recycle and re-use water. The result is that each litre of water drawn from the mains water supply is re-used between 155 and 555 times (depending on the processes running in SWT at the time) before being sent back down the drain and into the mains waste water system.

Such water conservation is vital given the predicted increased in demand through population growth and climate change.
