Professor Leighton’s lecture
Professor Leighton gave an invited keynote Plenary Lecture to an EU-sponsored workshop on Cavitation Expoitation in Ljubliana, Slovenia, on 20-22 September 2023.
Professor Leighton talked about the ethics of research and the obligation to generate societal benefit, and how this needs action and strategy on the part of the researcher, because it rarely arises by publishing and hoping someone else will read that publication and do the hard work of translating it for the good of the public (who, usually, are the ones who paid for it via taxes).
The workshop was organized by Professor Matevz Dular and funded by his 2017 European Research Council Consolidator Grant.
